  Layne Staley’s personal writings will soon be available to fans in a new book. Weldon Owen Publishing is releasing **This Angry Pen: The Lost Journals of Layne Staley** on November 11 2025. The 176‑page collection compiles the Alice in Chains singer’s handwritten lyrics, private poetry, doodles, sketches, rare photographs and fan tributes. According to the official announcement, the book will allow readers to step into the world of Layne Staley with his original artwork, candid photos and rare fan art. Reports also note that the collection includes never‑before‑seen poetry, raw handwritten lyrics, scribblings and personal notes. It is expected to provide a unique glimpse into the mind of the late frontman. **This Angry Pen** arrives more than two decades after Staley’s death in 2002.
